For eleven years, Desert Veterans of Wisconsin has been spreading extra holiday cheer to veteran families all throughout Wisconsin with their Christmas Program. The program asks volunteers and sponsors to donate to an anonymous veteran family that is experiencing financial hardships. Things like clothes, gift cards, household items and more can be added to a family’s gift list. The Christmas Program assists between 10 and 20 families each year and donors can also provide financial aid to support families that were not matched with a sponsor.

Carnivore Meat Company was proud to join in the spirit of giving this year. The company gathered over $1000 in gift cards, board games, art supplies, household products and more for their sponsored family. This marks the fourth year that the company and its employees have stepped up and showed their generosity to support those in need.

“This is really a testament to our company’s culture of giving back and to the teams that go above and beyond to make a difference in people’s lives. The Christmas season is all about sharing and it’s a blessing to be able to give back to our veteran community,” states Lanny Viegut, CEO of Carnivore Meat Company.

Previously, Carnivore Meat Company worked alongside other local charities at Christmas, such as Ben’s Wish, a non-profit working to solve food insecurity. Through Ben’s Wish, Carnivore Meat was able to sponsor as many as 300 children’s meals in one holiday season. More recently, the company participated in the “Meat the Need” holiday food drive with Paul’s Pantry and were able to donate 2,029 lbs of food to the local charity to help solve food insecurity in the the Green Bay area.

In 2020, the company launched a “Vital Relief Challenge” by donating $100,000 to Green Bay area nonprofits including food pantries, shelters and other community outreach organizations. This was followed by care packages containing pet food and treats sent to families in need. Throughout the pandemic, Carnivore Meat Company has continued to support people in need wherever and whenever possible.
